About Baile Corcaigh

Baile Corcaigh (pron: bal-ya cor-kee) means "Town of Cork". Corktown is Detroit's oldest neighborhood, taking it's name from the Irish emigrants, many from the county of Cork, who settled to this area in the 1840's.

  • Awesome food and atmosphere! Make sure to ask for the story behind the fireplace.

  • Bally Cork is the most authentic irish pub in the Detroit area. It's food and service are among the finest in the entire area. It's always a wonderful experience when you visit Baile Corcaigh.

  • Authentic? Not really. This place says Ireland only if you've never been there. The musical quality varies from great to horrible. The food is good. The neighborhood risky.

  • Baile Corcaigh is myfavorite restaurant. It captures the true spirit of Ireland. Irish artistry is found in the stained glass windows and celtic designed chandalers. The lilt of soft traditional Irish music adds to the Irish elegance!!!

  • The food, service, & atmosphere are all GREAT. Makes for a nice dining experience.

  • When you step into Baile Corcaigh, you forget that you're in Detroit - you could swear you were on the Isle itself! The food is amazing - 35 of us dined there last year - not only did they accomodate our large, lively group (ages ranging from 7 to 79!) - but everyone's food was perfectly prepared. Be sure to go on a night that Blackthorn is playing!

  • Great food - great entertainment - Owners are special people

  • I heart Baile Corcaigh...the seafood chowder and soda bread are the best around...did I mention the shepherd's pie, scones, and salads...wash it down with a guiness draught...yummmmmmy:)

  • Live Irish music on Saturday evenings makes this restaurant a place to go. Very romantic.
